Philanthropy

The core values of the First Class are compassion, curiosity, character, and courage. Our goal is to be that example for the future leaders behind us.

Our lives are richer partly because of the diversity we experienced at our alma mater, and both equity and inclusion are vital for future Navigators/Grizzlies to flourish.

Proceeds from donations and raffle/merch sales will go toward programming and scholarships to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion at Walter Payton College Prep.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who's invited?

Students, teachers, and staff of the first class at Walter Payton College Prep (c/o 2004).

Whether you started with us in 2000 and left, or transferred in and graduated with us in 2004, we want to see you!

*pending availability, we will extend the invitation to classes of 2005-2007 in mid-May.

What's included in the ticket price?

Each ticket comes with a wristband for entry, buffet-style small plates, and Open Bar from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. The all-in price includes tax and gratuity, so any additional tips can be given at your discretion.

Students, teachers and staff of the First Class will also receive a First Class Commemorative Keepsake, and a raffle ticket (or two). Additional raffle tickets will be sold the day of, and proceeds will benefit diversity, equity and inclusion at Payton Prep.

Who is the ticket vendor?

The email will come from Ticket Tailor, and the charge will appear on your card as Sheffield Chicago.

Is it open bar?

Yes, drinks are included in the price.

The open bar will go from 6:00pm – 8:00pm, then turn cash for the last hour. Food is buffet-style and is based on the guest list, so first come first served.

What's the dress code?

Cocktail Attire. Look nice, but be comfortable.

Can I come if I graduated in a different class?

Sort of. This event celebrates the First Class at WPCP (class of 2004) and its teachers, staff, classmates, and guests. We have also made the Friends of First Class tickets available for the classes of 2005-2007.

We will be cross-checking the guest list with our records, and those who were not students/teachers/staff/classmates/guests of the first class at WPCP will have their tickets canceled and refunded.

What's the parking situation?

It’s Lakeview on a Saturday night, so street parking will be at a premium.

We recommend using rideshare services like Uber and Lyft to the reunion (especially if you will be partaking in the open bar).

There are also several parking lots within walking distance, and the venue is a short walk from the Red, Brown, and Purple lines.

Can I bring my guest?

Yes, plus ones are welcome to attend as long as they are 21 and over.

Will tickets be available at the door?

Not quite. All tickets have to be purchased online.

Pending availability, tickets may be available for purchase online on the day of the event.

Can I bring my children?

Not for this event. But look for information for a family friendly event during the weekend.

Got a question?
No problem.
